Lesson Information
Lessons are available to riders of all ages and abilities, from first time riders to experienced show riders. Bluestone Farm is located in Bedford, NH. The private facility is equipped a beautiful, well maintained indoor arena as well as trailer parking and ample turn around space for the riders wishing to ship in and ride their own horse.
For riders who do not have their own horse, Bluestone Farm offers quality lesson horses. In addition to riding, Martha feels that an important part of being an equestrian is learning about the care and maintenance of your equine partner. Horsemanship skills, including grooming and tacking up, care of the horse, equipment and barn, is taught in addition to riding lessons.
Bluestone Farm specializes in Hunters, Jumpers and Equitation, as well as basic western lessons. Lessons are geared towards rider’s individual goals, wether it be in H/J, Equitation, showing or pleasure riding. Riders who are interested in other disciplines, such as eventing, dressage, western, including any of the specialty western disciplines, Martha can assist the equestrian in finding additional qualified and quality professional trainers in specialized areas.
Martha is available to teach at other locations, wether it is horse owner’s own property or other equestrian facilities, which allow outside trainers (proof of Professional Trainer’s Liability Insurance is available to barn owners).

Lesson Price: $70.00
Lessons are approximately 1 hour.
For beginner riders, riding time is 30-45 minutes with the remainder of the time focused on grooming, tacking and horse care.
For advanced riders, or riders with their own horse, riding time is 45-60 minutes and could be longer, it schedules allow.
Please plan for a minimum of 60-90 minutes of total time at the barn.
Bluestone Farm accepts Cash, Checks, Venmo and Apple Pay. Credit Cards will be available soon and a small fee for credit cards may apply.
Before your first lesson:
Bluestone Farm has an easy-to-use app, The app is useful to check on lesson times, find out about events and for everyone to communicate. You will be sent a link to download the app, including a password.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled lesson time to sign a release and an information sheet with contact information, riding level, horse knowledge and emergency contact, including any know medical issues and allergies.
Attire:
Riders must wear a properly fitting, certified ASTM/SEI equestrian riding helmet. If you do not own one, a list of local tack stores can be provided.
Riding breeches or jeans are appropriate. Please no thin, light weight stretch pants or shorts.
Footwear should be a low heeled boot, with ankle support (paddock boots or hiking type boots). Tall riding boots or paddock boots and half chaps are best with breeches.
Leg protection, like half or full length chaps are optional
Tops should be climate appropriate. Dressing in layers is also recommended.
Riding gloves are optional but during cold weather, warm gloves of any kind are highly recommended.
